Royal Holloway Student’s Union has announced plans to refurbish Medicine, one of the main bars on campus.
The announcement was made at the SU’s Annual General Meeting by the SU’s Chief Executive David Flynn, who confirmed the work would take place this summer and be completed in time for the 2018/9 academic year.
Located between The Hub and Gowar and Wedderburn halls, Medicine hosts popular events on a Monday night and is also known to host live music events every week.
The refurbishment is expected to include a securable bar, allowing student groups to use the space without the requirement of SU staff monitoring the bar. It was also announced that outdoor sections would be refurbished, including the outdoor space behind Stumble Out and the pathways.
It was also confirmed that Stumble Out would be replaced by a more permanent structure in the summer of 2019.
