The Founder’s Kate Brook wins Best Features Writer at first ever LSJSN Awards

'Saturday 19 March saw the first ever London Student Journalism Support Network awards, which celebrated student journalism across London universities.'

Saturday 19 March saw the first ever London Student Journalism Support Network awards, which celebrated student journalism across London universities. It saw attendees from The Founder, Felix (Imperial), The Beaver (LSE), The Lion (Heythrop College), The London Student (ULU), Roar! (KCL), ∏ (Pi) Media (UCL), The Leopard (Goldsmiths) and Q Media (Queen Mary’s), and was ably organised and hosted by London Student editor Joe Rennison.

The Founder is proud to announce its Features Editor, Kate Brook, walked away with the first award of the evening, that of Best Features Writer of the Year. Her prize was a sought after work experience placement at the News of the World.

RHUL’s Rag Chair and Founder contributor Ben Parfitt won Best Sports Reporter of the Year for his work as Sports Editor of the London Student, for which he won a work experience placement at The Sun.

Other awards included Best Paper (Felix), Best News Reporter (Oliver Wiseman, The Beaver), Best Critic (Charles Betts, Felix) and Best Photographers (Will Hadley and Keeren Flora).
